Brewers spanked by Giants at Miller Park

The San Francisco Giants crushed the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday at Miller Park with the Giants coming out on top 15 to 2. You don’t often see such high scoring games, and anyone with Brewers tickets sure got their money’s worth. This high-scoring game saw the teams combine for a whopping 17 runs! Talk about excitement!

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum (3.16 ERA) got the win, while Chris Narveson (6.02 ERA) took the loss for the Brewers. Tim Lincecum went 7 solid innings for the Giants, allowed 4 hits, one home run and one earned run with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Giants was Guillermo Mota (3.24), and Jeremy Affeldt (4.70). The Brewers’s starter Chris Narveson went 3.1 innings, allowed 9 hits, 3 home runs and 9 earned runs with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Chris Capuano (4.66), Carlos Villanueva (4.15), Todd Coffey (4.83), Kameron Loe (1.74), Trevor Hoffman (7.96), and John Axford (2.74) also pitched for the Brewers. With the win, Lincecum’s record goes to 9-4, while Narveson is at 7-6.

Buster Posey provided much of the offense for the Giants with an incredible 6 runs batted in. In addition to the 15 runs, the Giants scored 18 hits and committed no errors. Buster Posey led the Giants in hitting with 4 hits, followed by Edgar Renteria’s 3 hits, and Eli Whiteside with 2. Tim Lincecum had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Brewers didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Brewers scored 2 runs, 5 hits and one error.

Umpiring duties were performed by Brian Knight, Gerry Davis, Sam Holbrook and Greg Gibson. There were 29,387 Brewers ticket holders in attendance at Miller Park.
