The Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the San Francisco Giants yesterday at AT&T Park with the Dodgers securing the victory 8 to 2. It was a great baseball game that fans with Dodgers tickets will remember for quite some time.
Dodgers pitcher Vicente Padilla (5.05 ERA) got the win, while Jonathan Sanchez (3.26 ERA) took the loss for the Giants. Vicente Padilla went 7 solid innings for the Dodgers, allowed 3 hits, one home run and one earned run with one walk and 5 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Dodgers was Ramon Troncoso (5.45), George Sherrill (6.98), and Justin Miller (4.02). The Giants’s starter Jonathan Sanchez went 5 innings, allowed 6 hits, 2 home runs and 4 earned runs with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Santiago Casilla (2.51), Sergio Romo (2.56), Brian Wilson (2.18), and Denny Bautista (2.16) also pitched for the Giants. With the win, Padilla’s record goes to 2-2, while Sanchez drops to 6-6.
In addition to the 8 runs, the Dodgers put up 10 hits and committed one error. Rafael Furcal led the Dodgers in hitting with 4 hits, followed by Matt Kemp’s 3 hits, and Jamey Carroll with 2. James Loney had a tough day at the plate, leaving 6 runners on base. Aaron Rowand had the most hits for the Giants (3), followed by Eli Whiteside (1). The Giants got 2 runs, 7 hits and one error.
