The San Francisco Giants faced off against the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday at Miller Park with the Giants securing the victory 6 to 1. It was a great baseball game that fans with Giants tickets will remember for quite some time.
Giants pitcher Jonathan Sanchez (3.15 ERA) got the win, while Kameron Loe (1.83 ERA) took the loss for the Brewers. Jonathan Sanchez went 6 innings for the Giants, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 6 walks and 6 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Giants was Santiago Casilla (2.20), Chris Ray (3.09), and Dan Runzler (3.38). The Brewers’s starter Dave Bush went 6 innings, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and one earned run with one walk and 4 strikeouts. Zach Braddock (4.91), David Riske (2.79), and Chris Capuano (4.00) also pitched for the Brewers. With the win, Sanchez’s record goes to 7-6, while Loe drops to 0-1.
In addition to the 6 runs, the Giants put up 10 hits and committed no errors. Aubrey Huff led the Giants in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Buster Posey’s 2 hits. Pablo Sandoval had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Brewers didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Jonathan Lucroy could not get much going at the plate as he left 6 runners on base. The Brewers got one run, 7 hits and one error.
Umpiring duties were performed by Sam Holbrook, Greg Gibson, Brian Knight and Gerry Davis. There were 36,185 Brewers ticket holders in attendance at Miller Park.
