Wow! What a game you saw last night if you had Florida Marlins tickets, when Anibal Sanchez threw a no hitter for the WIN_TEAM!! Congratulations to Sanchez as well as the Marlins for an incredible accomplishment. You never know what you will see at a baseball game and if you were at AT&T Park yesterday you’ll have a story to tell for the rest of your life! It was a great baseball game that fans with Marlins tickets will remember for quite some time.
Marlins pitcher Anibal Sanchez (3.33 ERA) got the win, while Madison Bumgarner (2.70 ERA) took the loss for the Giants. Anibal Sanchez went 9 solid innings for the Marlins, allowed one hit, no home runs and no earned runs with one walk and 8 strikeouts. The Giants’s starter Madison Bumgarner went 6 innings, allowed 6 hits, no home runs and 3 earned runs with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Joe Martinez (4.91), and Santiago Casilla (3.18) also pitched for the Giants. With the win, Sanchez’s record goes to 8-6, while Bumgarner drops to 4-3.
In addition to the 5 runs, the Marlins put up 8 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Marlins, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Anibal Sanchez had a tough day at the plate, leaving 5 runners on base. The Giants didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Giants got no runs, one hit and no errors.
Umpiring duties were performed by Lance Barksdale, Ed Rapuano, Tom Hallion and Mike Estabrook. There were 41,152 Giants ticket holders in attendance at AT&T Park.
