Marlins Lose Close One To Giants

The San Francisco Giants squeaked to victory over the Florida Marlins yesterday at AT&T Park with the Giants triumphant 6 to 4. It was a thrilling night of baseball that anyone with Giants tickets will definitely cherish. It’s not too late to take in a game so get your baseball tickets soon!

Giants pitcher Sergio Romo (1.98 ERA) got the win, while Brian Sanches (3.31 ERA) took the loss for the Marlins. Matt Cain went 7 solid innings for the Giants, allowed 4 hits, 2 home runs and 3 earned runs with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Marlins’s starter Josh Johnson went 7 innings, allowed 8 hits, no home runs and 3 earned runs with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Burke Badenhop (5.52) also pitched for the Marlins. With the win, Romo’s record goes to 4-3, while Sanches falls to 0-2. Brian Wilson earned the save for the Giants, bringing his saves up to 30.

In addition to the 6 runs, the Giants managed 11 hits and committed no errors. Andres Torres led the Giants in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Aaron Rowand’s 2 hits, and Freddy Sanchez with 2. Buster Posey had a tough day at the plate, leaving 6 runners on base. The Marlins didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Marlins mustered 4 runs, 5 hits and one error.

Umpiring duties were performed by Tom Hallion, Mike Estabrook, Lance Barksdale and Ed Rapuano. There were 38,904 Giants ticket holders in attendance at AT&T Park.
