The Colorado Rockies faced the the San Francisco Giants yesterday at Coors Field with the Rockies winning 7 to 3. It was quite a game that followers with Rockies tickets will be talking about for days.
Rockies pitcher Aaron Cook (4.66 ERA) got the win, while Madison Bumgarner (4.50 ERA) took the loss for the Giants. Aaron Cook went 6.1 solid innings for the Rockies, allowed 7 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with one walk and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Rockies was Matt Belisle (2.81), Rafael Betancourt (4.97), and Huston Street (3.38). The Giants’s starter Madison Bumgarner went 7 innings, allowed 9 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with one walk and 5 strikeouts. Guillermo Mota (2.90), and Dan Runzler (3.21) also pitched for the Giants. With the win, Cook’s record goes to 3-5, while Bumgarner falls to 0-2.
In addition to the 7 runs, the Rockies managed 12 hits and committed no errors. Dexter Fowler led the Rockies in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Clint Barmes’s 2 hits, and Miguel Olivo with 2. The Giants didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Giants managed 3 runs, 7 hits and 2 errors.
